Smt. Munirathna N an ASHA worker in Tumkur district, other than ASHA worker she can also be called as "Social Worker". She was working in the filed of health from many years and she w.ill mobilise the community and facilitate them in accessing health and related services available at the Anganwadi/sub-center/primary health centers. She is issued Thayi card to pregnant women and ensured that their children have a healthy growth.
During the spreading of COVID-19, she worked hard to create awareness by visiting every house daily and admitted the patients to the COVID Care Center who had tested positive COVID-19. When the vaccines are provided by the Government, She again created the awareness about the vaccination in her and adjacent villages by informing everyone to get vaccinated in the particular period of time.
She distributed Masks, Sanitizer and Hand washes to the people and educate them to use properly and stay safe in the home and maintain social distance when the people are in the public places. The Union Health Ministry praised ASHA workers in their role in fighting COVID-19 in Karnataka, as the frontline health workers.
